SALUDAR STOPS INDONESIA'S NENGGO IN CHINA

Filipino flyweight contender Froilan Saludar won by TKO in the fifth round over Faris Nenggo of Indonesia and captured the vacant WBO Inter-Continental flyweight title in a fight held in Haikou, Hainan, China Saturday night.

Saludar (22-1-1, 14KO) continue his bid to rise again in the world rankings after his 2nd round knockout loss to McWilliams Arroyo of Puerto Rico in June last year for the IBF world title eliminator. Saludar earlier posted victories over Juan Purisma in October last year and against Michael Escobia February this year to return to the rankings.

Neggo, who stopped former world champion Merlito Sabillo in the 4th round in his last outing, dropped to 10 wins 8 losses and 3 draws.
