NBA -- Bulls cruise past Raptors, take over 3rd place in the East

CHICAGO -- Nikola Mirotic matched a career-high 29 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 108-92 win over the visiting Toronto Raptors, on Friday night at the United Center.

The 24-year old rookie made 11 of 21 field goals and pulled down 11 rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench.

"It's been a great run for him, and he's doing it.," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said in his postgame press conference after Mirotic notched his sixth 20-plus points in the month of March, according to the Associated Press.

Mike Dunleavy backed up Mirotic with 21 points while Pau Gasol had 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Joakim Noah also had an all-around, near triple-double effort with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.

DeMar DeRozan had 27 points for the Raptors but Toronto made only 30 of 79 field goals (38 percent).

The win improved Chicago's record to 42-28, a half-game ahead of the 41-28 Toronto Raptors for third place in the Easter Conference.
