NBA -- Clutch Kobe sinks Pacers, 88-87

LOS ANGELES -- Kobe Bryant scored 20 points including the go-ahead basket in the final 12 seconds of play and the Los Angeles Lakers edged the Indiana Pacers, 88-87, on Sunday night at the Staples Center.

Bryant had an efficient 7-for-14 shooting and also got six rebounds and six assists. Nick Young finished with 22 to help Los Angeles secure its third win in 10 games while Ed Davis added 11.

The Lakers won despite making only 27 of 71 field goals (38 percent) and 6-of-18 triples (33.3 percent).

C.J Miles led the Pacers with 19 while Donald Sloan recorded 16 and nine assists.

Despite the win, the Lakers remained in 14th place in the Western Conference with an 11-23 slate. The Pacers dropped to 13-22 and now trail the Miami Heat by two games for the eighth and last playoffs berth in the Eastern Conference.
