NBA - Heat sign Shannon Brown

MIAMI- Since Lebron James' departure to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat have been busy retooling their roster in a determined effort to stay as viable contenders in next season's NBA wars.
This week Miami signed 8-year guard Shannon Brown to a 1-year 1.3 million veterans minimum contract. Brown split his season last year with the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs appearing in 29 games where he averaged 2.2 points in 9 minutes per game.
The 6'4" 205 pound guard out of Michigan State University was best remembered as a member of that Back to back Los Angeles Lakers championship team from 2008-2010.
Miami already signed journeyman Shawne Williams, undrafted rookie Tyler Johnson and veteran Reggie Williams earlier this month. With the Shannon Brown deal, the Heat will have 16 players under contract with the this off-season. (JC)
