FROILAN SALUDAR vs. MCWILLIAMS ARROYO FOR THE IBF WORLD #1 FLYWEIGHT ELIMINATION

PhilBoxing.com

For Froilan Saludar, the long wait is over. Come May 31, 2014 in Puerto Rico, he will fight for the IBF # 1 world ranking in an elimination bout against McWilliams Arroyo. The IBF has formally sanctioned the fight and everything is a go.

Froilan Saludar started his professional boxing career on March 15, 2010 in Mabolo, Cebu City against Ryan Illustrisimo. This was followed by three other fights and on November 20, 2010, he captured the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth Flyweight Title against Remuel Obidos defended it against Jecker Buhawe on December 22, 2010. He became WBO Youth Flyweight Champion February 19, 2011 against Liempetch Veerapol via TKO 1. Then on March 17, 2012 in Lapu-lapu City, he defended his WBO World Youth Flyweight title and WBO Asia-Pacific Flyweight title against his first Mexican opponent, Alejandro Morales via UD 10. His next fight which was for the WBO Oriental Flyweight Championship was against Jose Alfredo Tirado, a very tough Mexican and won the belt by UD 12. Saludar?s last fight was last October 26, 2013 in Makati City against Tawanrung Eausampan.
Saludar has indeed come a long way. He has been into deep training in Cagayan de Oro City and now he is in Manila under the supervision of trainer Jhun Agrabio who also trains ?Marvelous? Marvin Sonsona. He is physically and emotionally ready for the biggest fight in his career.

Sammy Gello-ani the Philippine Promoter of Saludar who has the great Sampson Lewkowicz as his International partner has this piece of advice to all aspiring boxers who dream of making it big.

?The road to success is never easy. It requires patience, hard work, perseverance and dedication. Believe in yourself, in your capability and ability - are the necessary tools to attain your dream. You also have to believe in the people guiding your career. They are the ones who know what is best for you.

?Saludar is one person who knows what he wants. He is determined to be where he should be ? a world champion. And at the rate he is going, he is almost there. This fight is just a step away from fulfilling that dream.?
