LORETO 107.8, JOYI 107.6 LBS FOR IBO JR. FLYWEIGHT WORLD TITLE IN MONACO (PHOTOS)

Fighters Loreto and Joy made weight, ready to rumble. Filipino Rey Loreto weighed-in at 107.8 lbs (48.9 kgs) while his tough South African opponent Nkosinathi Joyi scaled-in at 107.6 lbs (48.7 kgs) ahead of their International Boxing Organization (IBO) Jr. Flyweight (108 lbs) World Title clash tomorrow (Feb 1) at The Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco.

The Loreto vs Joyi IBO world title fight is one of the supporting attractions of the thrilling card headlined by the collision of undefeated IBO/WBA Middleweight World champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (28-0, 25 KO's) of Kazakhstan defending against rugged Ghana challenger Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16 KO's).

Having won nine of his last eleven fights, including a win over former champ Pornsawan Porpramook, the 23-year-old Rey Loreto aims at derailing the ambitions of the experienced and confident South African who wants to claim his first world title.

Born in the southern Philippine City of Davao, Rey Loreto, aka "The Hitman," is in a fight of a lifetime assisted by his trainer former boxer Joven "JJ" Jorda of Iloilo and manager Brico Santig of Highland Boxing of La Trinidad, Benguet.

"Loreto is a young, fast, brave boxer with the chance of reaching his dreams for glory. Eight years younger than Joyi, Loreto is an always serious and disciplined figther. He trained well at the highlands of Benguet. This is not the first time that Loreto fights far away from Philippines," shared Brico Santig, winner of last year's WBC Asian promoter of the Year award.

"As an underdog, Loreto has won rough combats in Thailand and he is not afraid of any opponent. It will be a great fight tomorrow. We'll do our best to bring another world champion to the Philippines," concluded Santig from Monaco.
