MAKATI CITY -- Johnreil Casimero successfully defended his IBF light flyweight title Saturday night at the Makati Coliseum by stopping challenger Felipe Salguero of Mexico in the 11th round. It was Casimero's first title fight on home soil after winning the belt from Luis Alberto Lazarte in a riot-marred title fight in Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Feb. 2, 2012. Casimero then defended the belt against Pedro Guevara on Aug. 4, 2012 at Guevara's backyard in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. On March 16 this year, Casimero again went to his challenger's hometown to successfully defend his belt for the second time, this time against Luis Alberto Rios in Panama City. The Makati bout was Casimero's third successful defense of the title promoted by Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions that was offered free-to-the-public. In the co-main event, Mark Anthony Geraldo (29-4-3, 13KO) won by 2nd round KO over Ithanon Sitchamuang (19-6-0, 10KO) of Thailand and retained his WBO Asia-Pacific Youth super flyweight title. Michael Farenas (36-4-4, 28KO) won by 2nd round KO over Kosol Sor Vorapin (17-17-1, 11KO) of Thailand. Froilan Saludar (18-0-1, 11KO) won via UD over Sorthep Sor Von Krungthep of Thailand. In the evening's highlight bout, Manny Pacquiao's nephew, Joneil Pacquiao Dapidran won via UD over Junie Villacrusis in his professional debut. Also, Jack Tepora won via UD over Danilo Gabisay and Rence Brian Magarce won by 2nd round TKO over Diomedes Semilla Jr. Other bouts were still ongoing during press time.  Casimero vs Salguero.
