Opponent Change: Fegatilli-Eronen set for August 23rd PhilBoxing.com Wed, 10 Jul 2013 Finnish southpaw Tuomo Eronen (11-2-0 4 KO?s) is the new opponent for Ermano Fegatilli (27-5-0 5 KO?s) on August 23rd at Gents Boksgala XII. Unfortunately, 37 year old Italian fighter Domenico Urbano had to pull out of the originally scheduled eight round attraction due to a sudden denouement in negotiations. Is this a blessing in disguise? Ermano Fegatilli feels so. While Urbano was a challenge in the sense he is a seasoned former minor-level belt holder he constrained himself to the same type of challenge presented in Frenchman Karim Chakim ? a fighter he easily disposed of in their March bout. It is also worth noting that Eronen is a Southpaw. Fegatilli is currently eyeing an October WBC elimination fight against Justin Savi as part of the WBC?s Super Featherweight tournament. Savi is also a southpaw. Fegatilli relizes he has much to learn before a possible world title shot; you must start somewhere. Despite being 32 years old, Eronen lacks experience. He is still a novice of the sport an undoubtedly isn?t being positioned to shock Fegatilli. When thinking about defeating a fast handed ring-savvy fighter like Fegatilli, men like Eronen are often found uninitiated. His last stoppage victory was a 2009 leathering of Pascal Bouchez. This means nothing. At 28 years old and curving towards his physical peak Fegatilli has learned how to box his opponents. He realizes that this is his best and most functional way to win ? this is how he will become the next great Belgian fighter and achieve his dream of becoming the first Belgian world champion. In this fight, Fegatilli hopes to learn how to defeat a southpaw; will he have to keep his range, move laterally, and throw the quick right? Or will he have to corner them, work the body, and keep his opponent stationary? Eronen certainly doesn?t believe this ? but he may just be a trial run for a determined contender. Either way, Fegatilli recognizes the importance of every fight in the very midst of his career. He will need to prove himself to Eronen; he plans to assert himself as the better man in each and every round of the fight. In the end, he will leave as an even better fighter than he was before.
