In a major thrust to attract the huge Chinese population which has shown a dramatic increase in the interest in boxing because of fighters like Zou Shi Ming, a three-time amateur world champion, the Macau card will predominantly feature Asian fighters with the Philippines Brian Viloria defending his WBO/WBA flyweight title against tough Mexican challenger Juan Francisco Estrada and the sons of former two division world champion Dodie Boy Penalosa, Dodie Boy Jr and Dave Penalosa also seeing action. WBO flyweight mandatory challenger Milan Melindo will be on the card hopefully against a high-ranking Asian or if they are unable to get a competitive opponent ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told us they will try to sign up a Mexican or any other tough Latino opponent.
