AGUELO VS. ESPINO FOR PHIL. FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

Adones Aguelo (18W (KO 11)-7L-1D) of the Flores Boxing Gym of Mandaue City will face Cirilo Espino (17W (KO 11) - 11L-2D) of Batangas at the MSU IIT Gym, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte this January 5 for the vacant Philippine featherweight title.
This is the title previously held by Michael Farenas who has moved up to 130 lbs.
In his last two fights in Japan, Espino has a 1W-1L record, beating Masatoshi Kotani by 9th round TKO and losing to Shogo Ishikawa by eight round unanimous decision.
Aguelo has won three straight against Renan Branzuela, Godwin Tubigon and Jerry Nardo since losing to Joel Bunker in Australia. Aguelo has previously held titles under the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF). The featherweight belt at stake in Saturday's bout is the Games and Amusements Board (GAB)version of the Philippine title.
