DEMECILLO-SINGWANGCHA RETAINS PHIL SUPERFLY TITLE IN ILIGAN PhilBoxing.com Wed, 26 Sep 2012 Philippine superflyweight champion Marco Demecillo Singwangcha (18-0-1, 14 KO's) of the RWS Gym of Cebu remained undefeated after turning back the challenge of erstwhile unbeaten Marjun Tabamo (8-1-1, 2 KO's) of Misamis Oriental last Tuesday at the IIT Gymnasium in Iligan City. Marco was very confident and comfortable in exchanging blows with a game Tabamo, who relied on a technical style and sometimes caught Marco with a good shots but Marco just shook it off and smiled to his opponent. A barrage of body punches landed on Tabamo in the 2nd round and in the 3rd round Marco dropped Tabamo with combos to the head. In the 4th round Demecillo caught Tabamo with a cracking body shot and Tabamo backed off as Marco starts to release a barrage of power punches to the body and head and Tabamo goes down and did not make the count. Time 1:15. Demecillo is one of the Filipino prospects sponsored by Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha. He has scored stoppage wins in his last five bouts. Marco?s brother, Kenny Demecillo was not as lucky and suffered his first loss. Dondon Narvaez won by TKO vs. Kenny Demecillo Singwangcha in 1:02 of the 3rd of a scheduled 6 rounder. Narvaez start with wild overhands and uppercuts, then he caught Kenny in the second round with an overhand that made him groggy. In the third, Kenny still has no answers for the wild swinging Narvaez released a wild uppercut to the jaw that drops Kenny to the canvass and Ref. Delbert Pelegrino did not finish the count and waved the fight off. Tabanao Singwangcha (Flores Boxing Gym ) won by KO vs. Ronald Magluyan ( 1:40 ? 1st round ) with a cracking right body shot that sent Magluyan to his knees. This was the pro debut of Tabanao who is trained by Joseph Flores. Photo ? Tabanao with Naris Singwangcha Norj Guru won by unanimous decision over Luzminda Guido after 4 rounds. Scores: Eric Palafox , Borgy Obial and Roel Densing all had it at 39 ? 37 ). Ref. Tony dela Cruz It was a back and forth fight but Guru?s experience as the deciding factor. This was Guido?s pro debut. Jason Neri won by unanimous decision against Jonathan Singwangcha ? 6 rds. Scores: Judge Palafox 59-54, Judge Obial 58 ? 55 & Judge Densing 59 -54. Neri used stiff jabs and a waiting game to neutralize Jonathan?s aggressiveness. Jonathan down in the last round with a counter left hook to the head.
