Yamagaka 118, Darchinyan 118, for Tomorrow's WBC Bantamweight World Title in Tokyo
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 05 Apr 2012

TOKYO, Japan - WBC Bantamweight world champion undefeated Shinsuke Yamanaka (left) of Japan and tough challenger, the ever dangerous hard-hitting Armenian Vic Darchinyan, tipped the scales at an identical weight of 118 lbs (53.5 kgs) ahead of their title clash tomorrow (April 6) at the Tokyo International Forum here in Japan.
The combat will be the first title defense for Yamanaka (15-0-2, 11KOs), who won the prestigious WBC green with gold belt last November by knocking out Mexican slugger Christian Esquivel, while for the popular "Raging Bull" Vic Darchinyan this fight will be his awaited comeback after his loss to reigning WBA bantamweight super champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno of Panama.
According to boxing analysts here in Japan, tomorrow's title combat might not go the distance as both Yamanaka and Darchinyan are southpaw fighters who look to engage in close quarter combat throwing powerful hands in non-stop wars. Yamanaka is a knockout seeker who might have better boxing skills, but Vic Darnchinyan is proud seasoned full stamina brawler with violent instincts and a desire to see his opponent on the floor.
WBA Officials for the Yamagata-Darchinyan were present during the weigh-in in ceremony staged at the plush Grand Palace Hotel Tokio.
Referee in charge will be the experienced international third man Hector Afu of Panama.
Judges: Juan Carlos Pelayo of Tijuana, Mexico and Americans Burt Clements of Nevada and Steve Morrow of California.
Will "The Raging Bull" Vic Darchinyan become world champion again?
PhilBoxing will be in ringside at the Tokyo International Forum to report on the the outcome of this interesting WBC world title match.
