FILIPINO JESSICA SANCHEZ BROUGHT AMERICAN IDOL JUDGES TO THEIR FEET

PhilBoxing.com

Today, Wednesday, is the first night of American Idol?s competition when the top 13 will compete among themselves who will be American Idol winner for 2012.

There are seven boys and six girls remaining out of thousands that audition for the coveted title from all over America. Among the top 13 vying for the title is the diminutive but talented 16-year old Filipino-American Jessica Sanchez from San Diego, California.

Tonight was the 400th episode of American idol and it came with a surprise as revealed by the host, Ryan Seacrest. The boys have to sing one of the songs of Stevie Wonder and the girls have to choose from the late Whitney Houston?s songs as a tribute to her. Out of the bottom boy and the bottom girl after America voted, the three judges decide whom they will let go on Thursday night.

Jessica for all the courage and the talent she has, sang Whitney Houston?s signature and hardest song, so they say, ?I Will Always Love You? with a flawless, seemed easy and magnificent performance that earned her a standing ovation from the judges and endless applause from the spectators. ?Jess, it?s amazing. I don?t know what to say. I?m speechless. When you did those last three little things, we were there with you and I think you were even surprised at yourself,? Jennifer Lopez, one of the judges said as she commented with gusto. ?It was beautiful, Jessica. You are so talented. God bless you,? Lopez continued.
In the rehearsal, she wowed Jimmy Iovine and Mary Blige who were giving pointers to the competitors. Mary said of Jessica, ?amazing. impecable, wow,? after giving pointers to her to take more time even though, it?s so perfect. Jimmy said she just nailed it.

The ever-shy Filipina who always covers her face every time she hears positive comments from the judges was glowing and ecstatic. Who will not be? Randy Jackson revealed, as a matter of fact, that she is one of the best talent in the whole America, not just the best singer in this whole competition and the best vocal of the night.

Last week, in the top 26 performance, Jessica also brought the judges to the only standing ovation of the night.

The 11th season in the year of the dragon maybe the season that every Filipino in America, and back in the Philippines and in the whole wide world are hoping for and be proud of, that the winner of the American Idol will be from a Filipino descent. Stevie Tyler, one of the judges said, ?You may be the one? not to mention what Randy Jackson commented, ?Jessica is legit.? Let us vote for Jessica Sanchez all the way to the title. As we Filipinos say, ?walang bitawan.?
