MAYORGA PULLS A ?NO MAS? ALA DURAN

Las Vegas, NV: Ricardo Mayorga put up a show early on at the fight tonight at the MGM Grand Arena, but age caught up with the funny Nicaraguan and he finally pull a Roberto Duran act. Mayorga said ?no mas? to the referee who in turn stopped the fight at 53 seconds of round 12.
Previous to that Mayorga was dropped by a left hook from Miguel Cotto. Although Mayorga survived the knockdown, it was clear that the end was just around the corner. Clearly, he was rocked by Cotto and he was in no condition to continue.
?It was an amazing fight and the ending was beautiful,? Cotto said later at the post fight press conference.
Emmanuel Steward told the gathering of the media people that Cotto followed instructions to the letter and thus the fight ended the way it did.
