Filipino Marjohn Yap vs Japanese Kenichi “Machine Gun” Yamaguchi PhilBoxing.com Thu, 03 Mar 2011 Marjohn Yap of the Philippines is scheduled to face the Machine Gun from Japan Kenichi Yamaguchi in an 8 round non title bout in ALA Promotions and ABN-CBN Sports’ latest event PINOY PRIDE 4: Philippines vs The World. Yap W 14 (KO 7) L 5 D 0, who is currently rated number 11 bantam weight in the Philippines will be in for a tough battle as he faces the relentless and rapid punching Japanese in Yamaguchi. Kenichi Yamaguchi W 16 (KO 4) L 1 D 2 is the reigning WBO Asia-Pacific Superbantamweight Champion and has fought world rated contender Billy Dib of Australia in a very exciting war in the ring where both fighters getting knocked down in the first round. Yamaguchi is also known for his theatrics in and outside of the ring wearing outrageous costumes. He once wore a ninja outfit going into the ring and a Japanese Samurai the next. The Japanese warrior is likewise a former stable mate of two time world champion Katsunari Takayama of Japan who now fights under the ALA Promotions banner. PINOY PRIDE 4: Philippines vs The World which is presented by ALa Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports will feature for the first time five different fighters with different nationalities going up against top Filipino fighters. Philippines vs The World is headlined by Filipino world rated contenders WBC Youth International Flyweight Champion Milan “El Metodico” Melindo vs Rosendo Vega of Mexico and WBO asia Pacific Bantamweight title holder AJ “Bazooka” Banal vs Francis “Black Panther” Miyeyusho of Tanzania, Africa. The fight card also features OBPF Flyweight Champion Rocky Fuentes going up against reigning Indonesian Superflyweight Champ Jemmy “Boom Boom” Gobel and unbeaten Canadian sensation Steve “The Dragon” Clagget against Romeo Jakosalem.
