BAUTISTA, BARRERA FACE THE MEDIA TODAY
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Thu, 27 Jan 2011
Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and Mexico's Alejandro Barrera will face the media for the first time today for the final press conference of this Saturday's Pinoy Pride 3 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
Today's press conference follows Tuesday's media gathering at the Mooon Cafe IT Park where Barrera vowed to stop Bautista within five rounds.
"Boom Boom has no chin. I will stop him within five rounds," said Barrera as translated by Michael Lopez. "I hope Boom Boom comes into this fight in the best shape of his life. He should be ready. I am here to avenge my controversial defeat," said Barrera, who also predicted that Juan Manuel Marquez and Fernando Montiel will defeat their respective next opponents. Marquez will fight Erik Morales while battle-tested Montiel takes on Nonito Donaire Jr.
Earlier, in an interview with popular radio show "Pinoy Boxing," Bautista had vowed to make a definitive statement by knocking out Barrera in this highly-anticipated grudge rematch.
Also joining today's presscon are Edrin Dapudong, Jason Pagara and Roli Gasca who will face international foes in this event presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports.
Meanwhile, the official weigh-in for the bout takes place tomorrow at the Atrium of SM City Cebu.
