ALA PROMOTIONS VP TO ATTEND TAKAYAMA-JOYI TITLE FIGHT PhilBoxing.com Tue, 25 Jan 2011 Takayama. ALA Promotions Vice President Dennis Canete is scheduled to meet with South Africa?s biggest boxing promoter Branco Milenkovic, CEO of Branco Sports Productions. Canete, representing the Philippines premier promotions outfit ALA Promotions will be joining ALA ward two time world champion Katsunari Takayama of Japan for his title challenge of IBF light flyweight title holder Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa in Johannesburg on January 29, 2011. The ALA Promotions exec is likewise listed to discuss details of the future plans between the Philippine based ALA Promotions and Milenkovic?s BSP of South Africa. Katsunari Takayama who has been world champion twice in his young career winning the WBC Minimumweight title against Isaac Bustos of Mexico via 12 round unanimous decision last April 4, 2005 and his 2nd title the interim WBA Minimumweight Championship against Carlos Melo of Panama the following year. The former Japanese world champion has signed with ALA Promotions last year with hopes that the Philippine based boxing group would revive his career. Takayama?s choice was perfect as ALA Promotions delivered by giving him the chance to fight for a title eliminator bout in South Africa against S.A. native Tshepo Lefele where he won via 6th round TKO earning him the right to fight for this world title challenge against IBF Champion Nkosinathi Joyi. Team Takayama will be leaving for Johannesburg, South Africa on January 23, 2011 and will be joined by ALA Promotions VP Dennis Canete on the 25th of January 2011. |
