Pacland Philippine Boxing Forum, forum.philboxing.com, the community website of the highly popular MannyPacquiao.ph and PhilBoxing.com websites, has won the DigitalFilipino Community Award during the DigitalFilipino 2010 Web Awards awarding ceremonies held at the Hotel Inter Continental in Makati Wednesday afternoon (Nov 24) as website owner Dong Secuya personally received the throphy from event organizers Janette Toral and Bernardo J.B. Mitra, Jr. The Pacland Forum, created by Secuya in August 2003 to make home to a few noisy online Filipino boxing fans who were then supporting an unknown Filipino fighter by the name of Manny Pacquiao who was about to fight the legendary Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera in November of that year, has grown into a huge and very active online community with more than 50,000 registered members after Manny Pacquiao's historic and record-breaking run since then. The criteria used for judging during this year's awards, which was held in conjunction with the 2-day 2nd DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit, were search engine competitiveness, ranking on popular category keywords, website traffic stickiness, technical performance and social media engagement. There were 27 award categories and the winners feature the who's who in the Philippine online and corporate landscape. Some of the winners were GMANews.tv for Television, Philippine Airlines for Travel, Nokia for Gadgets, Smart Philippines for Telecommunications, Sun.Star Publications for Newspaper, Metrobank for Banking, PBA.com.ph for Sports and Yahoo Philippines for Website Portal.
