SADDAM, DELGADO SEE ACTION IN BANGKOK THIS FRIDAY! By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Wed, 14 Apr 2010 Thailand's undefeated Saddam Kietyongyuth and Filipino Ariel Delgado are slated to see action in a fight card on Friday presented by Daniel Potter's Top Rated Promotions to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. This event will be Top Rated Promotions' follow up event following a successful card it presented in Singapore back in January. Saddam, unbeaten in 19 fights with 15 KO's, takes on Indonesian toughie Simson Butar-Butar in the 12-round main event. The dynamite-fisted Saddam will try to prove his critics wrong following a so-so performance back in January where he had to pick himself up from the canvas after two knockdowns in the opening round at the hands of Korean Jong Yoon Choi, before knocking out the latter in the second round. The heavy-fisted Butar-Butar, the former WBO Asia Pacific super-featherweight champion, holds two knockout victories over Filipino Czar Amonsot, and should be a dangerous opponent for anyone who wants to trade leathers. On the undercard, Filipino Ariel Delgado of the Romano Stable takes on Mongkolchai Singmanasak in an 8-round tiff. If victorious, Delgado is hoping to get a crack at the Philippine superbantam title. Also seeing action on the card are some of Top-Rated Promotions' rising stars like Padjai Yongyuthgym who will go up against Ardi Diego over six rounds, while Gupee Toprated battles Eddy Comaro in a six-rounder. The curtain-raiser features featherweight Suakasem Kietyongyuth against a TBA. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Salven L. Lagumbay. |
