WBO CROWNS THAI FEMALE MINI FLYWEIGHT CHAMP

PhilBoxing.com

Ayutthaya, Thailand ? Yesterday, the WBO crowned a new Female mini flyweight World champion in Teeraporn Pannimit after ten grueling rounds to win a unanimous decision over game and undefeated Interim WBC Female world champion Eun-Young Huh.

Scores were unanimous, Philippines Judge Salven Lagumbay had it 98 / 92, Thailand Judge Sawaeng Thaweekoon and Edward Ligas of the Philippines scored it the same at 99 / 91 all in favor for Teeraporn Pannimit.

The new Female WBO mini flyweight champ made history as she will be the youngest Female world champion that captured a significant world title belt at age of 17 years old, she will be turning 18 years old on August 10, 2010.

The highly aggressive and talented youngster had too much heart for Eun-Young Huh as she controlled all rounds to almost a shut-out score over ten rounds.

The game Eun-Young Huh of Korea did not have any answer against the always attacking Thai prospect. Teeraporn showed too much heart against the undefeated WBC Interim Female Champion that left the Korean Female fighter befuddled.

After the fight, Philboxing.com had an interview with WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo who supervised the bout. He informed that, ?It was a great win for Teeraporn, the kid was determined and fought her heart out for her country and it showed in every round?.

?I am truly proud of our new WBO Female mini flyweight champion, the aim to win against a much older fighter did not faze her, Teeraporn really fought like she really wanted it more than the opponent. I congratulate her and her team for their effort of going the full ten rounds, it shows that she was trained very well, she surely will develop into a great champion in the future," said Panoncillo.

Meanwhile, this will be WBO?s 6th Female world champion and counting, with the leadership of WBO President Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel and his front man in Asia / Pacific, Mr. Leon Panoncillo, Jr. it will surely be sky is the limit for this organization.

It?s seems that the World Boxing Organization has created enormous buzz among Promoters in Asia especially that their current title holder, Manny Pacqauio who is their WBO super champion is the most talked about legendary fighter in the world. With that saying and along with the consistency of promoters inquiring for vacant regional and world titles at Asia have been a plus for the WBO organization.

Moreover, it has been more made clear that there is more Asia-Pacific promoters from Philippines, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and the newly announced 10-year agreement signed with Tiangin City of China being that of the third world largest boxing centre will be hosting World Boxing Organization championship and regional championship has given this boxing body a lot of props and attention.
