Dalupan and thrice Most Valuable Player of the country?s first and only pro-league William ?Bogs? Adornado will have a sort of a reunion. The occasion is the observance of their owner and team manager Danny Floro?s 15th death anniversary but instead of a big bash the amiable ?Mr. OK? would have regularly hosted in a posh restaurant or hotel or in the Redmanizers? headquarters at Glenmore St. in New Manila, Quezon City before he joined his Creator, today?s gathering will be held at the Manila Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, Cavite. A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the place where Danny?s remains were laid to rest days following his peaceful crossover on February 24, 1995. Besides Dalupan, whose 20-year partnership with ?Boss Danny?,to his players and team officials and employes, is the longest and most fruitful in the history of Philippine Basketball, and Adornado, who won the firwt two of his three MVPs as a Redmanizer, expected to attend are former Pasig City councilor Atoy Co, ex-San Juan Vice Mayor Philip Cezar and outgoing Caloocan City Vice Mayor Tito Varela. Also attending, according to Floro?s man Friday then, Jun Nonato, are Freddie Hubalde, Rey Franco, David Cezar and others who are still in the country. Abet Guidaben and Bernard Fabiosa, two other mainstays of the 1976 and 1983 Grandslam champion teams, are presently based in the United States. Lunch well be served after the mass courtesy of Floro?s widow Dona Angeling and children Tessie, Dave, Elizabeth and Ra. Valerie and children-in-law. Floro?s surviving siblings Elena and Victoria and brother-in-law Tony Uichico, who at one-time acted as Crispa team manager, nephews, including Barangay Ginebra coach Jong Uichico, and grandchildren will be on hand. Friends, like Tommy Manotoc, architect of Crispa?s second three-conference sweep 26 years ago as well golfers who had also been beneficiaries of Floro?s kindness will be missed as they are in Bacolod City participating in the Philippine Airlines Interclub tournament. Golfing buddy and sports broadcaster Andy Jao, columnist Recah Trinidad as well as members of the print media whom Floro lured into playing golf, have also been invited.
