It was an entertaining Saturday night in Talisay City capped by the well fought eight round bout between Reil Mandate of the Omega Boxing Gym and Ruther del Castillo of the Ringside Stable of Manila.

Del Castillo pressed the action early with powerful hooks but Mandate effectively countered to keep things interesting. Mandate faded in the 5th and 6th as Del Castillo continued his charge. Mandate rallied and in the last round stunned Del Castillo with a left straight.

The scorecards read: 77-75 for Del Castillo, 76-76 and 76-76.

The supporting main event was the clash between Andy Se?erez of the Yanie Sta. Cruz stable of Talisay City and Jerpaul Valero of the Omega boxing gym.

Senerez won by split decision in a blood tinged six round brawl. The fight was marked by heavy exchanges and Senerez suffered a cut on his left eyebrow in the 4th due to a head butt. Valero was deducted a point.

The scores read: 58-55 Senerez, 57-55 Valero and 59-55 Senerez.

Junior middleweights Jaime Siscon and Tiger Tayros fought to a majority draw after six hard fought rounds. The scores read: 58-56 Tayros, and 57-57 on two judges’ scorecards.

There were four preliminary four round contests:

The scores: 40-36, 39-37 and 39-37

Lt. flyweight Sary “Kamikaze” Canonigo of the Yanie Sta. Cruz Stable won by second round TKO over Ervin Yamo of the Phil-Aust Gym. Canonigo pounded the hapless Yamo near the neutral corner prompting the referee to stop the fight at 2:44 of round 2.

In the first pro bout of the evening, mini-flyweights Delmar Cabatas (Yanie Sta.Cruz Stable) won by majority decision against Dionilo Salvador (Phil-Aust Gym) in a wild swinging contest. The scorecards read- 39-37, 39-37 for Cabatas and 38 all.
