Peter Maniatis speaks about Ellis vs Kiatchanachai postponement, trip to Philippines
By Carlo Denoy PhilBoxing.com Wed, 22 Jul 2009

Leading Australian promoter Peter Maniatis took time out ahead of his big promotion on Friday night to exclusively speak to PhilBoxing about the postponement of the big IBO World Youth Title fight between half Filipino prospect Heath “The Heat” Ellis and Denkamol “Krabi Kid” Kiatchanachai as well as his upcoming trip to the Philippines.
When asked about the postponement, Maniatis said:
“I felt very sad and sorry for Heath Ellis as he will not be fighting for the IBO World Youth Title this Friday night. This is due to a bicep injury that he suffered during his intense training camp.”
“But l have promised Heath that l will promote his World Youth title on my November 20th show in Melbourne and I think Heath is a super talented boxer and the future of Australian boxing.”
Maniatis will be visiting the Philippines to do numerous things including a visit to the famed ALA boxing gym to film another documentary about some of their fighters; he will also be sitting ringside on August 29th at the Waterfront Hotel on the big Top Rank card that will feature Denver Cuello and Gerry Penalosa.
