WBO no. 7 junior middleweight Charles "Killa" Whittaker and WBO no. 15 superbantam Ramie Laput will co-headline a card promoted by the American Boxing Academy (ABA) Promotions on October 31st in Digos City, Philippines.
Laput, who recently won the WBO Asia Pacific superbantam interim title, will face the tough Phil Angcamor in the co-main event, while Whittaker will be pitted against a soon-to-be-named foe in the mainer.
American Boxing Academy superflyweight Bert Udtuhan will also put his 4-0 4kos record on the line against an opponent from Zamboanga City in a six-rounder. Two other ABA fighters, junior flyweight JanJan Claveria 5-0, and junior featherweight Cerilo "Body Snatcher" Espino 6-2, with 6 KO wins will both fight in 6 rounds, followed by American Boxing Academy 18 yr old 122-pounder Jilbert " Sugar Rey" De los Reyes.
"Jilbert is one the hardest punchers in our camp, even he is a beginner, the crowd will love this kid he is really exciting, and when he hits the guys they fall down," said ABA owner and founder Ken Smith.
De los Reyes is 1-0 with 1 first round KO in his pro debut last month. A couple other American Boxing Academy hopefuls will make their pro debuts in 4-round bouts to fill out the exciting fight card, promoted by Ken Smith and Alfredo Salazar of American Boxing Academy Promotions of Digos City.
The young upstart American owned, Philippine based promotional company has already promoted almost a dozen fight cards around Mindanao and Cebu only in its first year.
