MARQUEZ, CASTRO: A GLIMPSE OF WHAT THEY BRING
Visitors Will Have Public Workout Today

PhilBoxing.com

Cebu City -- If Cebuano fans have something to say to or ask World Boxing Organization (WBO) challengers Eden “Anestesista” Marquez of Mexico and Eddy “Torito II” Castro of Nicaragua, today will be the right time to do so as the two warriors hold a public workout at the ALA Gym in Banilad Town Center at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Fresh from jet lag and acquaintance with Cebuano boxers training at the famed ALA Gym in Talamban, Marquez did not mince words on Monday as he predicted a knockout of reigning WBO Inter-Continental king Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista in their main event face off at Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino this Saturday in a boxing blockbuster dubbed “WBO Night of Champions.” That may sound uncharacteristic for the pleasant-mannered pugilist, but he matter-of-factly clarified that it is only business, and nothing personal.

“I have traveled long hours from Mexico not to take this fight against Bautista seriously,” Marquez explained. “I am stone serious in bringing Bautista down this Saturday. I promised the Mexicans the belt. I will bring home the belt.”

Castro meanwhile kept undisclosed his fight plan for the snatch of the WBO mini-fly title from ruler Donnie “Ahas” Nietes.

Marquez will work with trainer Edmundo Gaitan at the public workout while Castro would hit it off with mentor Ernesto Jose Castro.

Boxing fans who want to bring home mementos may ask for the fighters' autograph and a few boxing poses with them. Of course, they need to bring their own camera for the act.

The August-30 boxing festival is presented by ALA Promotions in cooperation with Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino and ABS-CBN Sports.

Tickets are available at the following outlets: ALA Promotions Office, ALA Gym Banilad Town Center and Shang Mactan Town Center, Islands Souvenirs Ayala, Bisaya Ispisyal Ayala, USA Sports Ayala, and Marfori Bakeshop Mandaue. For reservations, please call Jeana (0928-5057980) and Brent (0917-3253005).
