SHANE CAMERON DEFENDS WBO TITLES AGAINST SMITH PhilBoxing.com Thu, 14 Aug 2008 Shane Cameron’s management is pleased to announce the opponent for his upcoming “Cameron’s Southern Crusade” fight scheduled for September 27th at the Christchurch Town Hall Auditorium. The "Mountain Warrior" Cameron of New Zealand will face African-American fighter Terry Smith who has a fearsome professional record of 36 fights for 30 wins 5 losses and 1 draw. Smith has experience advantage over Cameron having faced heavyweight title contenders Jameel McCline and Calvin Brock and with a victory over Cameron’s bridge-jumping opponent Kelvin Davis. Shane’s WBO Oriental and Asia Pacific titles will be on the line against Smith. Cameron’s manager Ken Reinsfield stated: “This fight is a big test for Shane, Terry Smith has been in the ring with some of the worlds best heavyweights, he’s skilled and he’s tough and has never been stopped.” Side Note: After his impressive beating of Kevin Montiy at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington on June 28 Shane Cameron is now back in the world rankings of prestigious world governing bodies as he is now rated WBO no. 8 and IBF no. 15.
