RP Blu Girls Dominate First Match Against New Zealand in the 2024 Canada Cup International Softball Championship

Manila---The RP Blu Girls made a powerful statement in their opening game of the 2024 Canada Cup International Softball Championship, securing a dominant 5-1 victory over New Zealand on Tuesday in Surrey, British Columbia. The match saw the Filipinos draw first blood in the second inning, setting the tone for their triumphant finish.
The real battle ignited during the sixth inning, when New Zealand managed to score their first and only point against the RP Blu Girls. This brief challenge was quickly countered by the Filipinos, who outclassed their opponents by scoring four consecutive points in the same inning. This impressive display secured their 5-1 lead and ultimately their victory.
ASAPHIL President Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed his profound joy over the RP Blu Girls' victorious start. "I have always believed in the capability of our team. Their performance today is a result of their hard work and earnest attitude. I am confident they can continue this momentum and bring home the championship," Lhuillier stated, reflecting the optimism and high spirits surrounding the team.
Looking ahead, the Cebuana Lhuillier-backed RP Blu Girls are set for a challenging schedule. They will face Hong Kong on July 3 in the afternoon, followed by an evening match against the host nation, Canada.
