Clyde Jared Toreňa to play in Malaysia Rapid Age-Group Chess Championship 2022

MANILA---Clyde Jared Toreňa, 7 years old, Grade 1 student of Pulo Elementary School in Cabuyao City, Laguna will head to Malaysia with hopes achieving an elo rating aside from bringing honor for the country.
Clyde Jared will see action at the 11th Dato' Ng Chee Cheong Open Rapid Age-Group Chess Championship 2022 Under Open-8 division to be held on September 4, 2022 at the Cititel Midvalley, Midvalley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
His older sister, Zafirah Jahly, will also play in the Under-10 section.
Clyde Jared, Cabuyao City's latest discovery, will also represent Laguna in the Batang Pinoy in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur this December.
Other notable players of Cabuyao City are AGM Dr. Fred Paez, Vince Angelo Medina, Tyrone de los Santos, Alfred Rapanot, Apollo Agapay, Michael Angelo Palma, Jeremy Marticio, Jersey Marticio and Woman Candidate Master AIM Alexandra Sydney Paez.
Major supporters were Gov. Ramil Hernandez, Congresswoman Ruth Hernandez, Mayor Dennis Hain, Ferly Orozco- Bolaños.
