NBA -- Antetokounmpo gives Bucks fans a Greek treat
By Phil Hatzitheodorou PhilBoxing.com Sat, 29 Dec 2018

MILWAUKEE -- Giannis Antetokounmpo showed the stuff that makes him a strong MVP candidate this season as he carried the Milwaukee Bucks to a 112-96 victory over the New York Knicks on Thursday night at the spanking new Fiserv Forum..
In front of a sold-out crowd of 18,058, the Greek Freak scored 31 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists as the Bucks improved to 24-10 for second place in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee also got 25 points and six rebounds from Kris Middleton while big man Brook Lopez added 17.
The Bucks made 42 of their 93 field goals, a sturdy 45.2 percent clip. They also drained 11 of 32 triples and 17 of 21 free throws. After trailing 28-24 in the opening quarter, the Bucks took each of the last three quarters, including a 34-point third quarter spurt.
Luke Kornet had 23 to lead New York, which dropped to 9-27 and 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Knicks made 13 of 31 treys (41.9 percent) but they shot just 37.1 percent from the field overall
As amazing Antetokounmpo was on the court, he was even better off of it after the contest.
After the game, as his co-players slowly exited out the packed arena, he signed memorabilia from fans who waited outside the parking lot. Among those who were lucky included a trio of Greek kids --- Vangelis Armakolas, Achilleas Armakolas and Panagiotis Karagiannopoulos --- who traveled all the way from Greece just to see their idol play. Giannis signed the Greek Freak's 2017 NBA All-Star jersey that they brought along for the trip.
