ORTIZ DOMINATES KAUFFMAN WITH TWO KNOCKDOWNS IN A 10TH ROUND TKO WIN
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 02 Dec 2018

Heavyweight contender Luis ortiz totally dominated Travis Kauffman sending the Reading, Pennsylvania native to the canvas twice and winning by 10th round stoppage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila) on the undercard of the Deontay Widler-Tyson Fury WBC world heavyweight championship.
Ortiz (30-1-0, 26KOs) stays in contention for the world title winning two straight after his knockout defeat to WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder last March in a fight that he almost stopped Wilder in the 7th round.

Ortiz who threw a volumes of right jabs to control the fight as Kauffman was content to be on the defensive probably hoping that Ortiz will tire out in the later rounds. Ortiz however never allowed Kauffman to mount his offensive as Ortiz punished Kauffman with his combinations and clipped him with his powerful straight lefts that were responsible in sending Kauffman to the canvas in rounds six and eight and another one in the tenth that almost sent Kauffman again. You have to give credit to Kauffman (32-3-0, 23KOs) for not giving up with all the punishment that Ortiz inflicted to him. Referee Thomas Taylor however saw enough and saved Kauffman for further punishment at 1:58 of the last round.
