Thus declared British welterweight Amir Khan of his projected encounter with Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao late this year or early next year. Khan is looking forward to a potential big money fight, should it materialize, that could generate, especially if held in London. ?I really do believe I am one of the few who can sell out a stadium in the UK. It?s more than just the stadium, it?s the personality and person who sells that fight and it?s the dance partner, as well,? Kahn said of what he perceives a meeting with the soon-to-be face off with Pacquiao could bring to both them. ?A Manny Pacquiao fight would be massive, anywhere in the world. He is a good fighter, a slick fighter, he?s a huge name in boxing and I am sure if he came to the UK, the UK fans would want to come and see him,? Kahn told Chris Scott in an interview. Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KO) is coming off of a sensational seventh round TKO demolition of Lucas Matthysse on July 15 in Kuala Lumpur where he wrested he Argentine?s WBA 147-pound belt. That was the Filipino?s first victory via stoppage in nine years that carried him back to the position he was once when every fight earned him millions. The potential Pacquiao-Khan showdown is dependent though on the result of the Briton?s coming bout with Samuel Vargas set September 8 in Birmingham, England, his second this year, following a near two-year absence from the ring. Khan (32-4, 20 KO) is odds-on pick to survive Vargas (39-3-2, 14 KOs) to, likewise, return to big money circle. Should he prevails as expected, Khan said he?d love to do his next fight in a stadium in the United Kingdom against former training stablemate Pacquiao. Pacquiao?s projected meeting with Khan cropped up after his strength and conditioning mentor Justin Fortune suggested it precisely because of its rich financial promise. The only man in boxing history to win boxing championships in eight divisions expressed preference, too, for Khan as his next dance partner from the list of elite fighters lined up, among them current [pound-for-pound best Vasyl Lomachenco and Terence Crawford.
