MAJOR LEAGUE BOXING SEASON FOUR FIRES UP IN JINAN By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 11 Mar 2018 JINAN, CHINA- The spring season is beginning but the winter cold still enveloped the capital of Shandong province. SECA?s Major League Boxing series had it?s first offering after the Lunar New Year break with two straight nights of fan-friendly action. The weekend event at the Maida Energy Sports Center was capped by the WBO Greater China title lightweight semi-finals match between Aizi Aili and Chiaching Hung. The first couple of rounds were competitive but in the third, Hung landed a hard body shot that sent Aili down on all fours. Referee Mekin Sumon of Thailand reached the count of ten at the 1:35 mark. There were eight other action-packed four round bouts offered last Saturday. The boxres ranged from bantamweight to welterweight. Yeerlan Nuerlanbieke beat Li Yunfei by TKO in round two. Tong Kelei won by unanimous decision, Zhang Yu beat Wang Guancheng by TKO in round two, Lu Wenjie got a unanimous decision win over Li Xiaolong, Shi Jihui beat Peng Yong also by unanimous verdict, Ma Qiang won a by majority decision over Wu teng, Liu Lei beat Liu Shuchang by unanimous decision and Huerban Qiatahe got a unanimous nod against Qu Ziang. There were nine four round bouts in the first day of competitions ranging from super flyweight to middleweight. Zeng Yujie beat Liu Bingjiang by unanimous decision, Ayibole Mulatihan also prevailed by unanimous decision against Ma Zhong, Chen Shuai beat Ren Qingxiang by TKO second round, Wang Yanbing got a unanimous decision vs Tang Xiang Hui, Lu He beat Haimengjiang by unanimous verdict, Aketeliete Yelejian beat Wang Yuchao by split decision, Li Xingyu beat Jiang Haojie by third round TKO, Zheng Liangyu and Ma Mingyu fought to a unanimous draw and Yin Zhihao won by TKO in the opening round against Wu Jiahui. Major League Boxing, formerly known as the League of Fists, is promoted by SECA and TOP TANK. The winners in the previous seasons in their respective divisions were crowned WBO Greater China champions. A total of sixteen boxers made their pro debut for this two day show which underscores the increasing popularity of pro boxing in the Chinese mainland.
