Enriquez, Kanesa Make Weight for WBA 112-lbs Asia Title Tomorrow in Thailand

PhilBoxing.com

Filipino Flyweight Michael "Blade" Enriquez (L) of Misamis Oriental and opponent WBA #13 Yutthana Kaensa (also known as Stamp Kiatniwat) made identical weight of 50.80 Kgs (112 lbs) during today?s weigh-in ceremony at Thailand?s Sports Medicine Center ahead of their battle for the vacant WBA Asia 112-lbs title tomorrow Thursday June 29 in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

The rumble will take place in the ring of the campus of Thonburi University in Nongkhaem, about 45 minutes west of downtown Bangkok.

For this tough appointment in Thailand, the 25-year-old Enriquez trained at the facilities of Sanman Gym in General Santos City (Southern Philippines) under the guidance of experienced, loyal Filipino coach Romeo Brillantes Desabille, who is now with his boxer in Thailand.

Michael Enriquez (13-6-1, 9 KO's) comes from a rather easy KO win over unheralded compatriot Jade Yagahon (7-8-2, 3 KO's) in T'Boli, Cotabato, last March.

Meanwhile, the Thai Yutthana Kaensa (16-1, 6 KO's) of Galaxy Boxing Promotions has been interim WBA Flyweight champion. Kaensa arrives to his clash with Enriquez from a points victory over newcomer fighter Rajesh last March.

Kaensa's (Stamp) one and only defeat in his 17 fights pro career was a TKO loss against superbly talented 3-division Japanese World Champion Kazuto Ioka (22-1, 13 KO's) last December in Kyoto.

Will the more accomplished Thai former titlist Kaensa (Stamp) score a win over Enriquez?

Or will the brave Filipino shock Kaensa to beat the odds and become WBA Asia champion?

Present during the weigh-in today (Wednesday) was WBA Asia fight supervisor Won Kim of the South Korea as well as veteran WBA Thai Official Mr. Pinit Prayadsab.

The Kaensa vs Enriquez 12-rounder battle for the WBA Asia Flyweight Title is a production of Galaxy Boxing Promotions, a company of the much respected man of boxing Mr. Niwat Laosuwanwat, who was also in attendance during the weigh-in ceremony today at the Sports Medicine Center in Bangkok.
