K.O artist Santisima: ?I want a title fight? PhilBoxing.com Mon, 27 Feb 2017 Santisima. RP #2 Jeo ?Santino? Santisima has set his sights on winning his first championship this year. Coming off from a busy and successful 2016, the young prospect wants nothing less than a title fight as his first, as this year?s ALA Promotions calendar starts rolling. Santisima made his Pinoy Pride debut February of last year against veteran and former Philippine champion Marco ?Singwancha? Demecillo. At what was considered the highlight fight of that night, Santisima outboxed the more experienced Demecillo to surrender in the 6th round of their slugfest. Santisima went on to score his 8th consecutive KO win April of the same year under the Donaire-Bedak world championship at the Cebu City Sports Complex and claimed three more knock out wins by the end of November, including one feature as the main event of ALA Promotions? IDOL Series. After turning pro at a young age of 16 in 2013, Santisima now has a record of 12 wins and 2 losses ? a total of 14 fights. He?s caught boxing media and fans? attention with his explosive knockout power, scoring 11 of his wins via K.O - 10 of which he won in his last 10 fights. In a recent interview, Santisima shared his family is his source of inspiration, expressing particular appreciation to his father who introduced and taught him the sport at an early age. He recalls how happy he felt after his Pinoy Pride debut early last year, saying his fight with Demecillo made his family proud. He shared, ?the reason I want a title fight next is because I know it will make my family happier and prouder. I want to improve my skills and be better, not just for myself, but also for my family. I?m looking forward for what?s to come.? The young Santisima eagerly added he wishes to work on improving his record and win his first title soon. Santisima has started the year training and sparring - waiting for an opportunity to fight for a title he believes he is more than ready for. Santisima is set to fight under Pinoy Pride 40, which headlines the Nietes- Nantapech IBF world flyweight championship in Cebu on April 29, alongside the undefeated Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo. |
