Brawl at the Mall: Return of Gensan's Finest Dec. 4 PhilBoxing.com Sat, 19 Nov 2016 Sanman Promotions will have its year-ending boxing presentation on December 4 at the Robinson?s Mall in General Santos City. It is billed as the ?Brawl at the Mall: Return of Gensan?s Finest? featuring two of Gensan?s finest southpaws ?Randy ?Razor? Petalcorin and Eden ?Mr. Showboat? Sonsona. Petalcorin (24-2-1-18 KOs) is a former WBA world light flyweight champion while Sonsona (34-6-2-12 KOs) is a former WBC International Silver super featherweight title-holder. ?It will be Randy?s first fight in Gensan in five years,? said Sanman Chief Executive Officer Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil. The 24-year old Petalcorin will be fighting for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific light flyweight title. ?We?re still waiting for IBF's approval for randy's opponent,? said Manangquil. In his last fight, Petalcorin beat former Philippine flyweight champion Donny Mabao via a unanimous decision last September 27 in Iligan City. Sonsona, on the other hand, will face former Philippine super lightweight champion Eusebio ?Raging Bull? Baluarte (19-17-0-12 KOs) of Valencia, Bukidnon. Sonsona last fought 17 months ago when he won the vacant WBC International Silver super featherweight crown vila 2nd round technical knockout win against Adrian Estrella in Mexico on May 16, 2015. The 27-year old Sonsona also won the vacant Philippine bantamweight title via a 1st round knockout against Monico Laurente last December 12, 2009 in Pasig City. Sonsona made an impressive performance in his US debut at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight where he stopped Eilon Kedem (10-2-4) in the 2nd round Sonsona also won in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey title-fight held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas by knocking out former world champion Mauricio Pastrana in the 8th round. The final card will be announced next week by Sanman Promotions. |
