Bobby Gunn Announces Training Camp In Historic Belfast, NY PhilBoxing.com Sat, 29 Oct 2016 To prepare for his upcoming world heavyweight bare knuckle boxing title defense, undisputed and undefeated bare knuckle fighter Bobby Gunn has announced that he will be holding his training camp in the historic town of Belfast, NY. On November 26 Gunn will be putting his world heavyweight belt on the line as he steps to the line against former champion and future MMA Hall-of-Famer Shannon ?The Cannon? Ritch. Belfast is more than a quiet community which will allow Gunn the separation from distractions and put all his focus on his task at hand. It is home to the Bare Knuckle Boxing Hall-of-Fame run by President and BKB historian Scott and Judy Burt. ?I would like to give Joe Curio a special thank you for making this training camp possible,? said Gunn. ?This gentleman?s family is a famous family in Belfast and has contributed so much to the town. We are honored that they are accommodating me and my team for this training camp to get ready for this major fight. Also I would like to give a big thank you to Scott Burt who will be the supervisor of the training camp and will aid in having me do some of the old-time training and exercises that William Muldoon used to work with on the great John L. Sullivan. It really is an ideal training place for any top fighter getting ready and wanting to get away from all the craziness. It has great top of the line training facilities, and I urge any fighter to come and try the Belfast John L. Sullivan and William Muldoon training course. It is truly humbling to be part of such a rich history.? The cost of the training camp for Team Gunn is $5,000 for a short camp and can be upwards of $10,000. John L. Sullivan was the last heavyweight BKB champion, defeating Jake Kilrain in an epic 75 round battle in 1889. Gunn won the linear title with a 3rd knockout over Richard Stewart back in 2011, and though keeping himself active in the underground circuit, will return to the sanctioned fight next month to keep both his belt and undefeated record secure. The explosion of Bare Knuckle Boxing on the mainstream has taken off in incredible fashion since Gunn?s emergence in 2011. Since Gunn has been featured in top media outlets as Rolling Stone Magazine, Men?s Journal, ESPN, Showtime Sports and more. He has lived up being the ?King of Underground?, as well as the poster boy for legit sanctioned Bare Knuckle Fighting. He and his team have done what no other organization across the glove has been able to do and made true and real bare knuckle boxing?not bandage boxing or boxing with hand wraps?legal and sanctioned. November 26 is the tip of the iceberg for a handful of events Gunn and his team plan on hosting going forward over the next calendar year, and Gunn has no doubts that BKB will be as mainstream as gloved boxing and mixed martial arts. |
