SECOND SEASON OF THE LEAGUE OF FISTS HEATS UP

SHANGHAI, CHINA ? The first of a back to back weekend fight card had enough blood, thrills and spills to grab the fans? attention.

Peng Chao dropped Zhang Yefeng with a counter right hook in the opening round of their super flyweight match. Zhang got up but in the second a clash of heads opened a gash on Zhang?s forehead right above his left eyebrow. The action continued but Zhang continued to receive punches prompting his cornerman to signal Referee Atty. Danrex Tapdasan so that his boxer will not enter the third round.

Li Leshan beat Zhou Songkunpeng by TKO at the end of round one in their super lightweight bout. Li opened a cut near the end of the round with a legal punch on Zhou?s left eyelid. Zhou was unable to open his left eye when the round was over prompting the stoppage.

In a middleweight battle, Wang Jianjing decked Shi Jiafu with a hard right in round two. Shi was still unsteady when he got up prompting Referee Danrex Tapdasan to call a halt at the 1:29 mark.

Kuerbanjiang Qiong prevailed over Liu Hong Jun by unanimous decision in their super lightweight tussle by scores of 40-36 from judges Surat Soikrachang, Feng Yaocheng and Han Hongxiang.

In another middleweight match-up, Yirexiati Tayier won a hard fought majority decision verdict over Yelejipu Ayati. Scores from Edward Ligas and Yang Hong ? 40-36, Zhu Yuwen 38-38.

Superflyweight Naiwuzhati Muermaimaiti knocked down Su Yinhuan in the opening round with a flurry of punches and cruised to a 38-36 win on the scores of Sungworn Klungboonkrung, Tao Zhendong and Feng Yaocheng.

Super lightweight Fu Kaisheng scored his third straight win against Mu Xuqi. Fu launched a consistent two fisted attack for four rounds and won handily, 40-36, on the scorecards of Edward Ligas, Zhu Yuwen and Mekin Sumon.

Maheshati Bolatihan stopped Pan Hao in their middleweight fight after Pan?s cornerman decided not to let his boxer enter the third round after being at the receiving end of hard shots.

The fights were held Friday at Yun Space, Elite Valley, Shanghai.The bouts were officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission of China (PBCC). The League of Fists professional boxing tournament is promoted by Seca and Top Rank. It was created to search for professional boxing talent in mainland China.
