PhilBoxing.com

SHANGHAI, CHINA ? The lightweight semi-final bouts for season one had decisive results.

Alimu Wushouer prevailed over Chen Xiaolong, who was tougher than expected. Alimu had trouble figuring him out in the early going but managed to grind him down with his power shots. The crowd was roaring in the homestretch pushing for a knockout but Chen managed to hang on.

Judges Sungworn Klongboonkrong, Salven Lagumbay and Atty. Danrex Tapdasan all scored it 59-55.

Alimu scores his seventh straight career win but this was the first time he did not register a TKO.

In the other lightweight semis, Yang Xiaolong knocked out Tan Jiaocai with a series of body punches in the 4th round.

In the preceding round, Tan fell to the canvas while both boxers were in a clinch. Yang accidentally hit Tan on the head with his foot, inflicting a cut on the corner of the left eye.

Tan gathered himself after the mandatory rest period but succumbed to Yang?s assault in the fourth. Referee Atty. Danrex Tapdasan reached the ten count at the 37 second mark.

This sets up the rematch between Alimu and Yang, who fought one year ago during their pro debuts in Beijing, before the League of Fists tournament was launched. Alimu won that fight by TKO in the first round.

For the Season two matches, there were three middleweight bouts on hand:
Maheshati Bolatihan beat Huang Lei by TKO in 1:43 of the opening round. Huang was pinned on the ropes receiving punches prompting Referee Han Hongxiang to stop the fight.

Huang Juxiang fought through a nosebleed in his bout against Wang Jianjing but had to settle for a unanimous draw.
(Cao Hengxiang,Feng Yaocheng and Yan Wengyong ? 38-38)

For the three super flyweight bouts:
Zhou Bin beat Yang Qiaosheng by unanimous decision.

Peng Chao vs Naiwuzhati Nuermaimaiti ended in a technical draw after a clash of heads in round one inflicted a long cut on the left eyelid of Peng.

Hexigetu won by unanimous decision over Wang Yangyang.
(Scores of 39-37 from Yang Hong, Salven Lagumbay and Danrex Tapdasan)

For the two super lightweight contests:

The League of Fists is an ongoing professional boxing tournament promoted by SECA and TOP RANK. The winner in their respective divisions will be awarded WBO Greater China championship belts.
