The great nephew of boxing legend Genaro "Chicanito" Hernandez, East LA's Julian "El Camaron" Ramirez picked up the family business as a youngster and quickly made a name for himself on the amateur scene. Yet despite his amateur success, it was clear from the moment that he made his professional debut in 2012 that his destiny was to become a world champion. So far, everything has gone according to plan for the 23-year-old southpaw, who has displayed power and poise in the ring, defeating veterans Raul "Bule" Hidalgo, Hugo "Olimpico" Partida and Christopher "S.D. Kid" Martin in his most recent bouts. Fighting out of La Puente, 28-year-old Abraham "Chamaco" Lopez is an eight-year professional who took his career to the next level in 2015, when he returned from a three-year layoff to get his degree and become a respiratory therapist. Among his victories were knockouts of former Olympian Alfred "The Stinging Bee" Tetteh, Jorge "King" Diaz and Carlos Valcarcel that showed off his punishing attack in the ring. Now ready to make his move on the top fighters at 126 pounds, Lopez expects to put on a show on June 4 while handing Ramirez his first professional loss. Vargas vs. Salido is a 12-round battle for the WBC Super Featherweight Championship presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Zanfer Promotions and sponsored by "Cerveza Tecate, Born Bold" and Casa Mexico Tequila.
