LOS ANGELES - Despite many fans boycotting Manny Pacquiao because of the Filipino sports icon?s controversial remark against same-sex couples, the Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight on April 9 was still attended by Filipino personalities.
Actor and director Eric Quizon, actresses Iza Calzado, Dianne Medina and Ara Mina, comedian Ketchup, Concert King Martin Nievera, Congressman Toby Tiangco, media personality Anthony Taberna, actor, dancer and singer Rod Jun Cruz and former actress, now U.S.-based Anjanette Abayari, were all unwavering in their support for their kababayan wh has brought much pride and honor to the country.
Filipino former Female Boxing World Champion Ana Julaton, Hollywood actor Cliff Curtis and even Venezuelan actor Fernando Jose of the famous Marimar television drama series also witnessed how the Pambansang Kamao knocked down Bradley twice to secure a unanimous decision victory.
The MGM Grand Garden Arena was filled with more than 14,000 spectators who all agreed with the judges that this fight was Pacquiao?s. The Pacman scored 116-110 by all three judges ? Dave Moretti, Burt Clements, and Steve Weisfeld.
Pacquiao said he wants to rest and spend more time with his family and constituents, and give time to serve God. The People?s Champ is running for a seat in the Senate in the May national elections. #
