Palicte suffered only his second defeat via a controversial hometown split decision in Mexico last March 12 (March 13 in Manila.). Palicte bowed to former WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight champion Junior Granados of Mexico by a split decision. ?Sobra ka daya. Dapat nga tinigil na dahil sobra nang binugbug ni Aston ang kanyng kalaban na Mexikano,? said Palicte?s trainer-second Joven Jimenez. Jimenez said Palicte had dominated the rounds. ?Halos ma-TKO na at walang round na pinanalo and Mexikano,? said Jimenez. Jimenez, a former PH national amateur boxer-trainer said Palicte had won the rounds of nos. 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10. ?Dapat tinigil na. Sobra ka bogbog,? said Jimenez. The 25-year old Palicte suffered only his second setback against 20 wins with 17 knockouts while 23-year old Granados, a former WBC Mundo Hispano flyweight champion, improved his record to 15W-4L-1D-8KOs. ?Maraming maraming salamat po unang una sa Panginoon at sa lahat po na sumuporta sa akin,? said Palicte, who also thinks that he won the fight. ?Panalo po tayo sa laban walang round po na panalo yung kalaban kitang kita naman po sa muka nya. Masakit po sa kin yung nangyari pero ganun talaga,? said Palicte, a native of Bago City. He also thanked the support given by his parents and family, his manager Jason Soong and family, his trainer Jimeneza and his very supportive girlfriend Kristine Juntilla Pabiona. Palicte previously won the WBO Oriental super flyweight title via a unanimous decision against Vergilio Silvano last November 13 at the Philippine Navy Gym in Taguig City. ?
