NBA -- Steph Curry is morphing into a legend By Nico R. Occidental PhilBoxing.com Fri, 05 Feb 2016 WASHINGTON -- A "Splash Brother" is slowly becoming a living legend. And he's only 27. On Wednesday night, February 3, 2016, Steph Curry -- the other half of Golden State's dreaded Splash Brothers backcourt that also features Klay Thompson), put on a spectacular performance at the Verizon Center in our nation's capital. The sweet-shooting Curry scored 51 points and the DC faithfuls gave the reigning MVP a standing ovation. As chants of "MVP MVP MVP!" echoed throughout the arena, greatness was in the air and whether you were a Wizard fan or Warriors, everyone appreciated the show Curry displayed. Steph and the Warriors need to go 27-6 the rest of the season to to tie '95-96 Bulls' record of 72-10 record that was thought to be untouchable. Curry and the band are in pace to tie or even break this almost impossible record in this era of basketball where a win is hard to come by. Curry is averaging 29.8 points a game this season, No.1 in the NBA. He is the only player with 11 three point field goals in multiple games in his career. Also, he is the only player with multiple 50-point games this season. He is also the only player in NBA history with over 200 3-point FGs before the All-Star break (232) Steph Curry holds the current record for most 3-point FGs in a season (2014-2015). So far he's having the most dominant offensive season in NBA history. He is dominating the 3-point line like Wilt and Shaq dominated the paint. Yes, it's that scary. You can put the elite players against him and he easily toys with them without a sweat. He is already regarded by some experts as "the greatest shooter of all time." That title is nothing compared to being considered the greatest player of all time. Only time can tell. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Nico R. Occidental. |
