Former Champion amateur Robbie Fletcher to meet Brent Moore on Oct 31 PhilBoxing.com Tue, 06 Oct 2015 ROBBIE FLETCHER WAS ONE OF THE BEST AMATEURS AUSTRALIA HAS PRODUCED now he's taking the step into the pro ranks. On October 31 he will make his much awaited debut against Toowoomba's Brent Moore who is 1-0, in a four round middle weight bout. Fletcher, who's a younger brother to former Word rated middleweight Jarrod, is a four time Australian amateur champion. Add to that countless State titles and golden gloves. "Robbie Fletcher was touted as a future star in the amateur ranks," TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 11 Promoter Brendon Smith said. "Many people believed he was as good as his brother Jarrod, and we've all see what Jarrod was able to do as a pro. "It's exciting for Toowoomba to have a famous name in Australian boxing like Fletcher feature on this card. "Robbie is trained by his father Dave at Hervey Bay and managed by the astute Steve Deller and of course he has his brother Jarrod on his side as well - so he's in good hands. "His camp was more than happy to put pen to paper immediately when I proposed Brent Moore vs Robbie Fletcher. "So there is confidence there," Smith said. "We're coming to Toowoomba with Robbie and believe we can win the fight," Steve Deller said. "We understand Brent Moore is a good prospect and he couldn't of been more impressive in his debut. "It'll be a tough fight, but the experience Robbie gained in the amateurs was immense and being around World class fighters like his brother Jarrod over the past few years has him well placed for his pro debut. "Robbie will be ready on October 31. "And we need to be after what we've seen of Brent Moore. "It'll be a great fight but we're confident we can win," Deller said. The bout against Robbie Fletcher will be Brent Moore's first in the Garden City. He made his debut on the Gold Coast in August with a stunning round one TKO win over Beau Holdsworth. "When Brendon mentioned the opportunity to take on Robbie Flectcher I was ecstatic," Brent Moore said. "Robbie has an amazing pedigree so I respect his ability. "For me this bout is about improving myself and I think some one like Robbie Fletcher can bring out the best in me. "I'm hoping to make some noise in the country and a win over Robbie Fletcher will only enhance my career," Moore said. This fight is a great addition to an already jam packed card for October 31 headlined by Will Young's Australian title fight and Herman Ene-Purcell's international heavyweight bout. "Brent Moore vs Robbie Fletcher is a fight people in Australian boxing will talk about for a long time," Brendon Smith said. "They're both outstanding prospects and they both have the ability and potential to go all the way to the top of the rankings in Queensland and Australia and even the International stage. "This is just the start for both of these men. "Whoever wins this fight will be fast tracked on the road to the top. "Robbie Fletcher has seen his brother Jarrod reach the top and he has the same goals. "The Fletcher name is one of the most respected in this country. "The name Fletcher and winner go hand in hand. "However in saying that Brent Moore has proven himself already as a pro with one big win. "He has all the tools to be a great fighter in this country. "All I can say is remember the names Brent Moore and Robbie Fletcher. "Come October 31 this will be one of the highlights of the night," Smith said. TICKETS ARE ON SALE FROM SMITHY'S TGW GYM.
