GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS INKS DEAL WITH ESTRELLA TV TO AIR LIVE BOXING MATCHES TWICE MONTHLY

PhilBoxing.com

Estrella TV will air the popular series LA FIGHT CLUB in addition to other fights under the Golden Boy Promotions banner

LOS ANGELES (July 27, 2015) - Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions today announced that it has signed a three-year deal with Estrella TV, one of the fastest-growing Spanish-language television networks in the U.S., to broadcast two boxing cards live every month on its network across the country, including the popular new series LA FIGHT CLUB.

Estrella TV will air its first fight under the deal with Golden Boy Promotions on Friday, September 4. Additional fight cards and broadcast dates will be announced soon.

"Estrella TV is one of the top-rated networks across the U.S. among Hispanic audiences so it was an easy decision to partner with them in bringing live, exciting boxing matches to their viewers across America," said Golden Boy Promotions Chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya. "Latinos comprise the largest fan base for our sport so we see this partnership with Estrella TV as a great opportunity to showcase our stable of fighters before an audience that is hungry to watch action-packed match-ups."

"Golden Boy Promotions is the top promoter in boxing with a huge, loyal Hispanic fan base that closely mirrors our current audience demographic-this a natural partnership that Estrella viewers around the country will be excited about" said Lenard Liberman, CEO of Estrella TV. "Estrella TV attracts hundreds of thousands of viewers in markets across the country, allowing us to quickly become one of the most-watched Spanish-language networks. These must-see boxing events will offer yet another reason for our current views-and future ones-to tune in."

As part of its deal with Estrella TV, Golden Boy Promotions will continue to host its popular LA FIGHT CLUB series at the historic Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles where it debuted on March 6, 2015. The series, which has sold out nearly every show, showcases the brightest rising stars in boxing and presents the exciting matchups in a nightclub atmosphere. To date, ringside celebrities have included Ronda Rousey, Mario Lopez, Kate Del Castillo, George Lopez and many others.

Estrella TV is the only network in Spanish or English to show two consecutive years of growth in primetime and its unique strategy of programming original compelling content made in the U.S. specifically for U.S. Hispanics assures that growth will continue. Golden Boy boxing fits perfectly into the Estrella TV strategy and will create destination viewing every Friday night.
