OCTOBER 31 CONFIRMED AS DATE FOR TGW & SMITHY BRING THE BIG FIGHTS 11 PhilBoxing.com Wed, 15 Jul 2015 Halloween themed fight night. EXCITEMENT IS IN THE AIR as Brendon Smith today confirmed October 31 will be the date for TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 11. It will be the second year in a row a fight night has fallen on Halloween - so once again this night will have a Halloween theme. "Earlier in the year I announced we would host fight night's on June 27 and October 31," Brendon Smith said. "June 27 was a great success and a very special night highlighted by great fights,a number of special guests and a very touching champions parade final farewell for Brayd. "I can't thank Toowoomba enough for their support. "Now we're gearing up for October 31." Who appears on this card is very much up in the air. "Everyone is a possibility," Smith said. "Fan favourite Will Young is highly likely to feature on this card. "He was very impressive against China's Wang Xinghua and he loves fighting in front of Toowoomba so we will do all we can to ensure he's on this card. "Brent Rice turned plenty of heads on June 27 and is strong chance to return on October 31. "Jamie Hilt is likely to be back for his second pro fight. "We're also looking at the possibility of Jack Asis, Les Sherrington, Kris George, Darren Askew - even Michael Katsidis could return on the card. "Anyone and everyone is a possibility. "I've started looking at possible fights this week so now the match making begins. "We will be doing our best to bring the best fights and most entertaining fights to our loyal legion of fans and sponsors." "I believe Toowoomba is the boxing capital of Australia," Smith said. "That's all thanks to the public who support the fighters so well. "Our fighters champion Toowoomba wherever they go - and in turn the rest of Australia is sitting up and taking notice. "We have the best fans in the country I have no doubt about that. "I also have to say a huge thanks to our sponsors. "Your support is what allows us to do what we do. "It was great to see so many of our sponsors ringside, in the champions parade, up in the ring and posing for photos with our special guests like Anthony Mundine and Jeff Fenech. "It's pretty simple without sponsors support we wouldn't be able to put on shows like we do. "A big thanks to Geiger Group ? John Geiger, Tony Fergson, Anton Griffiths, Bron Elliott and Greg Dalziell. Special mention to Greg who had his first corporate fight on the show. "Even though we only officially started training camp this week all of the boys have already been back in the gym doing a little bit to maintain their fitness.
