Four Filipino boxers who have been living and fighting in Australia have all lost in two fight cards in Sydney, Saturday.
Robert Oyan lost a unanimous ten round decision to 19 year old unbeaten Leonardo Zappavigna in a battle for the Australian lightweight title. The promising Zappavigna improved his record to 7-0 with 4 knockouts while Oyan who strangely fought for the title despite losing by a second round KO to Lance Gostelow last March 7 dropped to 18-29-4 with 6 KO?s.
In the same card at the Club Marconi in Sydney, Rolando Gerongco lost a unanimous six round decision to Jason Adams who improved to 15-5-1 with 9 KO?s Gerongco, according to boxrec.com dropped to 13-24 with 7 KO?s. Also beaten was Ariel Omongos who lost a six round unanimous decision to the talented Mohamed Elomar. Elomar improved to 14-1 with 5 KO?s while Omongos is now 2-7 with 1 KO.
Over at the Cronulla Leagues Club also in Sydney, Ramillo Caballes was beaten handily in a six round clash with middleweight Junior Talipeau who kept his undefeated streak and now has a record of 6-0 with 2 KO?s while Cabilles fell to 13-12-1 with 11 KO?s.
