MAYWEATHER?S AUSSIE TRIP POSTPONED AFTER FAILURE TO GET A VISA
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 04 Feb 2015

The trip of pound for pound king and undefeated WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr to Australia for visits to Melbourne and Sydney has been postponed after Mayweather was not granted a visa by the Australian government.
Well known Australian promoter Peter Maniatis told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that they are hoping Mayweather would eventually obtain a visa to visit Australia.
Maniatis was particularly disappointed since he had been booked for a one-on-one interview with Mayweather for the KO Boxing Show on Channel 31 in Melbourne.
The problem was reportedly caused by previous domestic violence issues involving Mayweather.
Maniatis told the Standard that the people who will be hosting Mayweather are reportedly interested in inviting eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao to visit Australia and planned to talk to Pacquiao and his adviser Michael Koncz who are currently in Washington for the big National Breakfast Prayer Meeting on Thursday, Manila Time, which is expected to be attended by US President Barrack Obama and the Dalai Lama.
Pacquiao is winding down a trip that took him to London for a private dinner with Prince Harry and a meeting with WBC welterweight Silver champion Amir Khan about a possible fight later this year or early 2016, a role as a judge in the Miss Universe pageant in Miami where he attended an NBA game of the Heat vs the Bucks and met with Mayweather at halftime and then again in his hotel suite to discuss the long-delayed multi million dollar showdown.
Mayweather was last reported vacationing in the Dominican Republic after earlier visiting Jamaica (Photo).
