2016 NBA FINALS -- Will the Cavs become the first team in Finals history to survive a 3-1 deficit?

CLEVELAND -- No matter how dire the circumstances may seem, there is always hope in the sporting world. As New York Yankees legend Yogi Berra once said, "it ain't over 'til over."

But in the history of the NBA Finals, all of the 32 teams that have previously held a 3-1 lead eventually went on to win the title. This doesn't mean that the Cleveland Cavaliers can't pull a historic comeback and shock the Golden State Warriors, this just means that the odds of that actually happening are impossibly long.

After winning Game 4, 108-97, the Warriors now have an amazing 97 percent chance of annexing a back-to-back championship, according to ESPN's Basketball Power Index. Per multiple reports, the Warriors are -8 favorites in Game 5 which will be played Monday night (Tuesday AM in Manila) at the Oracle Arena.

So, yes, the wounded, outplayed and out-gunned Cleveland Cavaliers have their work cut out for them.

There is, however, plenty of hope of left.

Remember, the Cavs have some guy named LeBron James playing for them. He never goes down without a fight and while the Warriors have done a good job on him defensively, the King can explode without a moment's notice.

Also, Warriors Draymond Green could be suspended following a fracas with James late in Game 4. That decision by the NBA will come out anytime on Sunday in New York.

Stay tuned. (Anthony Rozic with an additional report from HDS).
