Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat po

SARANGANI—Magandang araw po ulit sa inyong lahat, kayong mga masusugid kong tagasubaybay, fans at mga kaibigan. Sana ay nasa mabuti kayong kalagayan saan man kayo naroroon sa mundo. Sana, lubos ang inyong galak, buo ang inyong pagmamahal sa bayan at lalo ninyong ipinagmamalaki ang ating bansang Pilipinas at ikinagagalak na tayong lahat ay mga Pilipino.

Maraming, maraming salamat po ulit sa inyong lahat, sa lahat ng inyong dasal, pagmamahal at suporta at kung hindi dahil sa inyo, hindi ko po siguro kayang abutin ang mga bagay na atin nang natanggap at natatamasa sa kasalukuyan. Ikinararangal ko pong ipinapahayag sa inyo na ang inyong abang lingkod, ang inyong kababayang si Manny Pacquiao, ang kauna-unahang boksingero sa mundo na nakakuha ng kaniyang ikapitong titulo sa ikapitong magkakaibang weight division. Opo, ito ang bagong world record sa boxing.

Gaya ng ating inaasahan, naging mahirap para sa akin ang manalo kontra sa mas malaking kalaban na si Cotto, ang pambato ng Puerto Rico at ang dating tinitingalang kampeon ng mga welterweight. Inabot ng 12 rounds ang laban bago ito pinigil ng referee. Masayang-masaya ako dahil nakuha na natin ang isang record na sa tingin ko ay mahirap nang pantayan ulit sa larangan ng sport na ito. Sa wakas, nakamit na rin natin ang isa sa pinakamatayog na record sa boxing.

Mula nang lumaban ako bilang isang flyweight at naging kampeon ng 108 pounds division, nilampasan ko na ang ilang weight division upang maging kampeon ulit ng super-bantamweight division at ng featherweight division. Hindi ko ubos maisip na simula lang noong Marso ng nakaraang taon ay nakakuha pa ulit ako ng apat pang world titles sa super-featherweight, lightweight, junior welterweight at welterweight division. Bukod sa mga pagpapanalo ko laban sa mga kampeon na sina Juan Manuel Marquez, David Diaz, Ricky Hatton at Cotto, kasama rin nito ang pagbuwag ko sa imahe at alamat ni Golden Boy, Oscar Dela Hoya. Itong nakaraang isa’t-kalahating taon ang isa sa mga pinakamatinding taon ng aking boxing career kaya naman tama lamang na makapagbakasyon ako ng kahit kaunti.

Nandito po ako sa Sarangani province ngayon upang makapag-relax naman ng kaunti at makapiling ko rin ang aking pamilya, lalung-lalo na ang aking mga maliliit na mga anak na laging naiiwan kung ako ay lumalaban mula pa noong taong 2001 nang ako ay unang tumuntong sa America.

Labis po talaga ang hirap na dinanas ko sa laban na ito. Namaga po ang aking tainga at tiniis ko lahat ang sakit ng suntok na binitawan ng aking kalaban na talaga namang isa sa pinakamahirap kong nakalaban simula pa noong ako ay natutong magboksing. Malakas din talaga si Cotto, pero hindi ko ipinahalata na nasasaktan ako sa kaniyang mga suntok at bagkus ay pinag-ibayo ko ang aking pag-atake at ang pagpapanggap na hindi ako tinatablan ng kaniyang mga suntok. Ang tanging dahilan kaya ko nagawa at tiisin ang lahat ng ito ay dahil sa aking pagmamahal sa bayan at sa inyong lahat na alam kong umaasa sa aking pagwawagi. Hindi ko po kayo bibiguin — iyan ang aking pangako sa inyo noon at natutuwa akong ipahayag sa inyo: Mission Accomplished! Thank you very much, ulit.
