Gorres to undergo 5-6 months therapy

THE BRAIN SURGERY which promising Filipino bantamweight Z “The Dream” Gorres underwent at a Nevada hospital last Saturday underscored once more the perils of professional boxing.
Although the 27-year-old Gorres has recovered from the operation to remove the blood clot from his brain, doctors said the ill-starred Filipino boxer would need at least from five to six months of therapy before he could regain normal use of all his vital organs.

CEBU, Philippines - The condition of Z Gorres has dramatically improved five days after he went through the knife at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas to remove a blood clot on the left side of his brain.
In an official statement sent via e-mail, ALA Promotions president Michael P. Aldeguer said that Dr. Michael Casey, the attending trauma surgeon of Gorres, told him during a conference that the progress of the stricken Cebuano fighter is remarkable.

FELLOW Cebuano boxer Gerry Peņalosa said he is confident Z Gorres will recover from his injury and said what happened to the ALA gym stalwart was an “occupation hazard.”
